What better way to consolidate maths learning than through food:

Today to continue to develop our understanding of probability and possible outcomes we used fruit kebabs to help us with tree diagrams etc.  We can't wait for our next lesson when we use lollies for further practice.

Congratulations to Ben, Thomas, Jonty, Dylan, Isaac, Erinn and Kayla who are our school Whanau Leaders for 2016.  These seven students will be assisted by the deputy leaders throughout the year.
The leadership role is one of significance and one which these students will undertake with pride and enthusiasm.  We wish them all the best for 2016.

Whanau Games

A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone in Room 7.  You did an exceptional job planning and organising the Whanau Games on Friday afternoon.  You worked well in your roles as leaders and the students of St Mary's thoroughly enjoyed the activities you had for them.  An amazing TEAM effort.

Photos below are of some of the leaders and Kakariki Whanau in action:

Whanau Picnic

It was lovely to meet our Whanau Group for 2016 for a picnic lunch.  Kakariki will be lead by Dylan this year and he will be supported by his Deputy Leaders Rafe and Connor.

Sailing - Day One

The first group headed to the Otago Yacht Club today to take part in the Volvo Sailing Have A Go programme.  The eight students were instructed by Henry and enjoyed a day out on the water with gentle breezes.

A big thank you to Geoff and Megan for transporting the group and helping out for the day.
