Battle against the wasps!

Today we began our plan to combat the wasps we have circulating around school especially during lunchtimes.

The first step involved Isaac, Connor, Rafe and Mrs Dodson who emptied, scrubbed  and hosed out the wheelie bins to try to eliminate the sweet smell of fermenting food scraps which the wasps loved.

We then spent the afternoon making wasp traps.  Each group constructed a trap and then selected a bait for he trap.  These were then positioned around the school.  Over the weekend we hope our traps are successful and we have a number of captives when we check on Tuesday.

Which group has constructed the best trap?
Which group has set their trap with the most tempting bait therefore trapping the most wasps?

Buddy Time in Room 7

It was lovely to host our Room 1 buddies in Room 7 today.  We practised high frequency words and then enjoyed puzzles and a colouring task.

School Duathalon

A fantastic day was had by many today at our annual "Walk 'n' Wheels" Duathalon.

Thank you to Mrs Matheson for organising the event and to all the students who helped out.

It was wonderful to have so many parents, grandparents and family friends come along and support us.

Well done to all participants for your determination and success.
